Iceland is a land of natural wonders, but one of the most captivating and iconic attractions is the Geysir hot spring area. Located in the southwestern part of the country, the Geysir area is home to a collection of stunning geothermal features, including geysers, hot springs, and fumaroles.
One of the highlights of the Geysir area is the Strokkur geyser, which erupts every 5-10 minutes, shooting a column of boiling water and steam up to 30 meters in the air. The sight of Strokkur erupting is truly mesmerizing, and visitors often find themselves waiting in eager anticipation for the next eruption.
The Geysir area is also home to the original geyser, Geysir, from which all other geysers take their name. While Geysir itself is no longer as active as it once was, it still occasionally erupts, providing visitors with a glimpse of its former glory.
Despite being May that morning, at 4 pm it was really cold. My hands, although covered with two pairs of gloves, were cold in a very short time.
