Marmore Falls, or "Cascata delle Marmore," is a spectacular man-made waterfall located near the town of Terni in the Umbria region of Italy. With a total height of 165 meters, it is one of the tallest waterfalls in Europe. The falls were created by the ancient Romans in the 3rd century B.C. as part of a hydraulic engineering project to control the waters of the Velino River and to drain the marshy lands around the area.

The waterfall consists of several distinct cascades that plunge into a deep gorge, surrounded by lush greenery, making it a stunning natural spectacle. The best times to visit are in the spring and early summer when the water flow is at its peak, creating a magnificent display of water and mist.

Visitors to Marmore Falls can enjoy various activities, including hiking along the scenic trails that offer breathtaking views of the falls and the surrounding landscape. There are also viewing platforms that provide excellent vantage points for photography.

The site is not only a natural wonder but also a testament to Roman engineering and its lasting impact on the environment.
