I am an Italian photographer who moved to Iceland.
I started taking photographs when I was 17 but at the time my main passion was music.
I played drums for 30 years then, tired of that work environment, I detached myself and little by little the passion for photography prevailed.
After trying different photographic genres, I specialized in landscape leaving aside all the others because it was the photography that excited me (and still excites me) the most.
I moved to Iceland on March 2018 and one of the first things I had in mind to do was a photography book on the 4 elements in nature in Iceland (which certainly are not lacking).
It took about 6 years before I had enough photographic material worthy of being published in a book. Here you can browse it and here you can buy it.
Why this blog?
I have never been very good at writing and telling stories. But time passes, things change and you face and overcome your fears and shyness. So I decided to open this blog to tell about Iceland from my photographic point of view.
In each article I will accompany you to discover a waterfall, a mountain, a lake or a breathtaking landscape that this small but enchanting island full of natural beauty offers. There will also be some animals and birds typical of this island.
Here you can have an overview of my photographic work on the landscape in different countries, while here in particular on Iceland.
Why Iceland?
I came on holiday to Iceland for the first time about 20 years ago. I was enchanted by the landscape, totally different from the Italian one. At that time it was much wilder (and in my opinion also more fascinating and beautiful), few tourists, no queues of cars to get out of the capital. I visited the typical places of the golden circle, Geysir, Gullfoss and Thingvellir National Park. I visited a part of the south, such as the waterfalls Seljalandsfoss, Skógafoss and Svartifoss up to the lagoons of Fjallsárlón and Jökullsárlón in Vatnajökull National Park and the diamond beach on the opposite side of the road. The black sand beaches of Reynisfjara and Reynisdrangar near Vík í Mýrdal. Wonderful places.
The following year I came back again and visited the northern part. Mývatn Lake, near Akureyri, the so-called capital of the north, the wonderful semi-circular waterfall Goðafoss, the sulfurous area of Hverir, where I thought I was on Mars because of its colors and the conformation of the land. On that occasion I was lucky enough to see for the first time a northern lights dancing in the sky! It was wonderful.
I returned here several years later for work and then moved permanently in 2018.
The online shop
With the launch of the blog I also take the opportunity to announce the opening of the online shop. For each photograph you can view its product sheet to see the different sizes available, the types of paper they can be printed on, price and other details.
In the Iceland gallery, but not limited on, most of the photos can be cropped and printed in standard, semi-panoramic or square sizes.
It is possible to split a photo into two, three or more parts to create a diptych,

a triptych

and so on.
The possibilities are several and if you have any particular needs I invite you to contact me to discuss them.
See you in the next post!!!
