Vestmannaeyjar, or the Westman Islands, are an archipelago of 15 islands and 30 sea stacks off the southern coast of Iceland. In addition to their incredible natural beauty, the islands boast the world's largest population of summer-nesting puffins and a fascinating history. The history of the Westman Islands is as dark as it is intriguing, and begins at the very beginning of Iceland's history, with the first family to settle here.

Thakgil Valley is a stunning natural gem located in the southern part of Iceland, near the town of Vík í Mýrdal. Thorsmork is a magical lush oasis surrounded by glaciers and beautiful highlands located in the south of Iceland. It is a place with such magnificent beauty that no adjective can do it justice. But to reach the base camp you have to travel several kilometers of dirt road and cross many rivers, some of which are quite deep, especially the last one. From the base camp there are several paths, some of which can be covered in 3-4 days.

Lakagígar (Laki craters in English) is a volcanic fissure located in the Vatnajökull National Park in Iceland. It is one of the most significant geological features in the country, known for its stunning landscapes and historical volcanic activity. The fissure, which stretches approximately 25 kilometers, was formed during a series of eruptions that occurred between 1783 and 1784, known as the Laki eruption.

Often included in the Golden Circle route, which includes other natural wonders like Þingvellir National Park, Geysir, and Gullfoss waterfall, Kerið is easily accessible to visitors, making it a popular stop.

Vík í Mýrdal, ofter simply referred to as Vík, is a picturesque village located on the southern coast of Iceland.  Renowned for its stunning landscapes and dramatic coastal features, Vík is particularly famous for its black sand beaches, with Reynisfjara being the most notable. The black beach at Reynisfjara is characterized by its striking black basalt sand, formed from volcanic activity, and is surrounded by impressive sea stacks known as Reynisdrangar.

Jökulsárlón is not just a visual spectacle; it’s also a rich ecosystem. The lagoon is home to various wildlife, including seals that can often be seen lounging on the icebergs and a variety of bird species that inhabit the area. Fjallsárlón is often considered a quieter alternative to the more famous Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, providing a more intimate experience with nature.

Kirkjufell, often referred to as the most photographed mountain in Iceland, is a striking peak located on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in western Iceland.
